Here's the final piece of a 3 part series to small businesses just entering the blogging space - have you read Part 1 and Part 2?

So finally, is there anything we missed that you'd like more information on? Drop us a note in the comments below.

Photos

Just like blogs and video, taking photos are a great way to create interesting, visual and sometimes fun content. Using the ideas and tips already given you can use photos to enhance these, so get used to having your camera handy and take it to functions, events, staff meeting etc. We all have phones that take photos these days so use them regularly and upload your instant snaps to your Social Media profiles.

People don’t necessarily want to see professional photos from businesses all the time, the fun and on the fly, behind the scenes style photos are often better received than expensive photo shoots. As long as the quality and lighting are decent you are good to go.

Existing data

Depending on what your business is, you could be sitting on a gold mine of existing data. Does your company produce internal or external documents that could be of interest to others, even if they need slight re-writing they could give you some ideas for blog posts or content.

Some examples of existing data could be:

  • Reports or company results
  • Research or insights on products or services
  • White papers on topics relevant to your business
  • Solutions to issues your company or customers face
  • News articles or press mentions for your business

Autoblogging

If you have a blog you may have heard of autoblogging, it is not a replacement for genuine and original content, (remember Google will penalise you for having a site full of duplicate content) but it can be used as a technique to include additional and interesting content to your site. The idea is to use software like WP Robot to scan other sources including You Tube Videos, Yahoo News, Twitter and article databases to find content relating to keywords or topics you tell it to search for. The software then automatically places the relevant content onto your blog at set times and intervals, this is a very simple explanation for it so we suggest you do more research on this topic if you are thinking about using autoblogging.

Your Turn

So if you have been sitting there scratching your head and wondering how on earth you are going to come up with some interesting and relevant content for your site, you now have lots of ideas on how to get started.

We hope that we have helped get the creative juices flowing and would love to hear your ideas on this in the comments section below.
